The purpose of Bernini’s Construction Safety Program is prevent accidents and injuries on our job sites. We meet all federal, state and local safety laws and regulations and are proud to have logged more than 500,000 man-hours without any injury.
Before arriving on a job site, all employees are required to attend Bernini’s 10-Hour Construction Safety Course. A certificate of completion is issued at the end of each course. Employees are required to attend this course annually (we offer courses every March and November). Each month, all employees are involved in a one-hour safety-training course.
All employees and members of the project team who ride the scaffold must be safety certified. Our employees attend Scaffold Safety Training and are required to carry their course completion card and Certificate of Fitness. All members of the project team must also attend Scaffold Safety Training if they will be riding the scaffold. It is not necessary for professional engineers and registered architects to take the course.
It is our goal to prevent accidents before they happen. Work will be suspended if anything has been determined a hazard or unsafe. We will resume work once the danger is corrected.
Appropriate barriers are used when the public use of work areas is necessary, including sidewalks, entrances to buildings, lobbies, corridors, aisles, stairways and roadways. This will ensure the safety of both the general public and the property.
The United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration requires all manufacturers to issue Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). The purpose of the MSDS is to relay important information about the nature of any chemicals used in the product, such as its flammability, toxicity, the need for protective equipment and spill or clean up requirements, to ensure the safety of any potential user of that chemical. We issue a Site Safety Manual to each job site that include a MSDS Sheet for each product used at the job site. These MSDS Sheets are for the safety and knowledge of each worker. The Site Safety Manual is kept in a prominent place and available to all workers.
Appropriate records, as required by OSHA, are kept in our main office.
Visitors to our job sites, including but not limited to suppliers, owner representatives, agents of the architect or engineer, regulatory authorities and insurance company representatives are required to follow all safety rules and regulations during their site visit. Hard hats and steel-toed boots are required on most sites.
A copy of our Site Safety Manual is available by calling our office.
